Programme P-03 · Access to Justice Program

Rights mean nothing if you can't reach them.

The Access to Justice Program removes the legal, institutional, and social barriers that prevent people from exercising their rights. Delivered through Legum Help Centers, which provide free legal information and assistance, and the LEGUM mobile application.

Delivery

How it works.

Legum Help Centers

Physical points of contact providing free legal information and assistance, staffed by trained paralegals and connected to a wider referral network.

The LEGUM mobile application

A digital front door to legal information, paralegal contact, and case tracking, built to extend the Help Center model beyond physical locations.

Trained paralegals

The network is built on trained, ID-carded paralegals who are the first point of contact for most beneficiaries, coordinated through a national campaign infrastructure.

The LEGUM mobile application is the digital front door to the programme: legal information, paralegal contact, and case tracking, built to extend the Help Center model beyond physical locations. Scan the code on the banner, or reach the team to bring the app to your community.

Barriers

The barriers we address.

Legal

Not knowing a right exists, or not knowing how to invoke it.

Institutional

Systems that are technically accessible but practically closed: cost, distance, paperwork, or process.

Social

Stigma, fear of retaliation, or a community norm that discourages seeking formal recourse.

Flagship

The flagship delivery vehicle.

The Access to Justice Program's largest single delivery to date is the #A2J campaign, a six-month national campaign that trained and deployed 120 paralegals, activated 6 law clinics, and convened a 12-member Justice Coalition.
